Hurricane Matthew has force a temporary pause in the Malama Honua worldwide voyage of the Hokule’a.  The ocean voyaging canoe remains moored in a river lock system about 37 miles north of New York City until Hurricane Matthew passes.  Once clear of the storm, Hokule’a will head for a dry dock in Virginia.  After a month’s stay at the dry dock, Hokule’a will set sail for the Panama Canal.
