Hokulea bound for Cape Town, dozens from Oahu to participate in grand welcome | KHON2

A contingency of about 60 people, including many students and teachers will leave this week to greet Hokulea in South Africa.

The voyaging canoe Hokulea is expected to reach Cape Town, South Africa around 14 November 2015 as part of its around the world cruise. A delegation of 60 Hawaii residents will be flying to Cape Town to join Hokulea’s crew in several ceremonies and activities.  Among the events is a special ceremony honoring Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
